All photographic art needn’t be serious. This series certainly isn’t. I've started with photos I've taken of the common pepper – green, red, yellow, don’t much matter – and “hybridized” them with photos I’ve taken of unrelated objects in order to see what emerges. The results were fantastical, … and sometimes, … quite beautiful. The objects with which I worked had very different symmetries, or textures, from the smooth skin of a pepper. I often hybridized my peppers with two other objects, a virtual ménage à trois, if you will. The combination often produced unexpected surprises. Many brought a smile to my lips, to yours too, I hope.
